Conference Venues

The opening session of the Conference will be held at the new Buenos Aires Convention Centre on 10 December.

The Convention Centre is on Avenida Figueroa Alcorta, next to the University of Buenos Aires Faculty of Law.

The building is situated in the city centre, and enhances the appeal and distinctiveness of the surrounding area. Its setting is integrated with the “Museum Mile” and other emblematic and historical attractions.

The Centre’s design is based on the concepts of integration, accessibility and sustainability, cross-cutting the entire building and creating a unique, innovative and modern space.

With around 22,000 m2 of indoor space, 1,350 m2 of semi-covered space, and 2,300 m2 of outdoor space, the CCCBA can accommodate more than 5,000 conference participants, and provides a wide variety of services for conferences, workshops, meetings, seminars and conventions, etc.

Working sessions will be held at the Hilton Buenos Aires Hotel. The hotel will also provide an area for accredited journalists.

Bilateral and other meeting rooms will be available to delegations, subject to reservation.

Information on reservation procedures will be made available closer to the time of the Conference.

The Accreditation Centre for delegations, the press and NGOs will be located at the CCK Cultural Centre. The address of the centre is: Sarmiento 151, CABA, C1041AAE, Argentina.

The CCK Cultural Centre was designed at the end of the 19th century as a central postal and telegraph o— ce, and was inaugurated in 1928. It has been declared a national historic monument, and since 2016 has been used exclusively as a cultural centre.

The CCK Cultural Centre is 100,000 m2 in size and equipped with the latest technology. Its many rooms and open spaces are used to host a wide range of cultural events, and include a symphony hall, a chamber hall, and a suspended glass structure supported by a Vierendeel truss frame. This structure, resembling a giant lamp (from which it gets its name, “Gran Lámpara”), was designed by the Argentine artist, Julio Le Parc.

Rooms for meetings, video screenings, conferences and exhibitions are located on the fourth, fi fth and sixth fl oors, and include six auditoriums, each with a capacity of over 100 people, multipurpose rooms, anterooms and foyers that refl ect the splendour of the building.

A large meeting room will be available at the hotel (Golden Horn Meeting Room), upon reservation, for working sessions. The same meeting room may also be used by delegations.
